|When you started competing in international competitions, did you see yourself being in the top-10?
Yes and no, although I was hoping to get to that level one day. When I was younger it was my biggest dream to get to that level in the youth categories. When I started senior competitions I saw that the dream could become a reality if I trained harder.
What motivated you to compete rather than just to climb outside?
Since childhood I have always practiced the two facets of climbing, competition has always been a game for me and the cliff is about sharing fun time with my friends. At the moment I am still in the game, with a real desire to become even better. I still climb outdoors with my friends on weekends, sharing this time with them is important for my lifestyle balance.
What are some struggles you face as an athlete?
It’s really hard to juggle daily training daily and work. I am fortunate to have been able to continue my studies in one of the best Masters business school in France. I’m also lucky to have a team around me that is very dynamic and willing to help develop my communication company: The Climbing Family.
Cimbing at international level requires daily effort, but we need to balance it with all the rest : going out with friends, going on vacation.
What influenced you to start competing?
The game, the challenge, giving the best of myself is very important.
Who most helped you get to where you are right now?
My brother, he has always supported me and vice versa. We were both competing in the beginning, in fact he was even better than me. I always wanted to catch him and I think that helped me. Then he decided to devote himself to something else, then supported me. Even on the other side of the world he is always present if I need him.
What advice could you give to Young Athletes?
Always believe in yourself. At first I was far from the best but something inside me told me I could get there. Do not listen to others and make your own way.
